えと、GNU Wget 1.5.3 ですと、

Recursive retrieval:
  -m,  --mirror       turn on options suitable for mirroring.

としか書いてないのですか、

GNU Wget 1.6 ですと、

Recursive retrieval:
  -m,  --mirror      shortcut option equivalent to -r -N -linf -nr.

と書いてあったりするものですから。^^
