[plamo:06218] GlibとGtk+を日本語環境で使用する方法

矢野です。

Plamo Linux 1.4.5で、SGMail 3.18を使用しております。
日本語のアイコンの吹き出しやアドレスを表示しようとしますが、
表示されません。
英数字部分は表示されます。

GlibとGtk+を日本語環境で使用する場合、
何か、オプションやパッチを必要とするのでしょうか？

環境
PC-9821Xe10
Plamo Linux 1.4.5
SGMail 3.18
Glib 1.2.8
Gtk 1.2.8
Ruby 1.4.4
Ruby-Gtk 0.23

それと、Glib 1.2.8で、./configureをオプション指定無しで、
実行すると、下記のエラーが表示されます。
./configure --disable-threadsと実行すると、
最後まで進行し、Makefileが作成されます。
この影響は考えられるのでしょうか。
