soundtracker の件です。

soundtracker に setuid がたっている理由

INSTALL ファイルにこんな風に書いてありました。
If it worked (which is highly probable on any i386 Linux system which
fulfills the requirements listed above), you can now 'make install' as
root (which also makes the executable setuid root in order to gain
maximum audio performance).
