[plamo:07461] 2.1のsetup中にLILOのインストールに失敗します

SD11月号付録CD-ROMでPlamo2.1をインストールしましたが、
表題のような問題が起きたので報告します。

３台のSCSIディスクに以下のようなパーティションを取り、
ブートセレクタにはPartitionMagic5.01付属のBootMagicを使っています。
*印を付けたパーティションが今回新たに作成したものです。

/dev/sda1  FAT16  PC DOS
/dev/sda2  FAT16  Win98
/dev/sda5  HPFS   OS/2 Warp3

/dev/sdb5  HPFS   OS/2 Warp4
/dev/sdb6* Linux swap
/dev/sdb7* ext2fs Plamo /

/dev/sdc5  HPFS   Warp4 データ用
/dev/sdc6  HPFS   Warp4 データ用
/dev/sdc7  HPFS   Warp4 データ用
/dev/sdc8* ext2fs Plamo /home

LILOの設定はsimpleを選択して、
/dev/sdb7へインストールしようとしましたが
「LILOのインストールに失敗しました」となって出来ませんでした。
#上記メッセージはうろ覚えです、すいません。

LILO入りの起動FDを作ってあったので、
セットアップ後の再起動はそちらで出来ました。

/etc/lilo.confを見ると、以下のようになっていました。

   to = 0x81
  map-drive = 0x81
   to = 0x80

そこで、rootになって直接liloconfigを起動し、
expertでplamoの起動の設定のみ行うと、今度はインストール出来ました。
BootMagicで/dev/sdb7を指定して起動できています。
lilo.confは以下のようになりました。
