まず質問なのですが、ide-scsiは外してますか？
それと名倉さんの指摘によるとATAしかデバイスを認識しないみたい
ですので、ide-scsiを外した状態で再起動してrootになって
cdrecord -scanbus
で何も表示されてこないでしょうか？
その時に/dev/hdcは存在していますか？
