早間です。
plamo 4.6 を VMware 上で起動しています。
ノート機なので(?)キーボードを２つ接続して使用しています。
ノートについているキーボード配列は101です。
usb ポートに109キーボードを接続し、通常はusbキーボードを使用してい
ます。

ｘを起動しない状態ではキーマップが効いているのでしょうか
# どちらのキーボードを使用しても同じ値なので101 ではキートップと異
# なっています。
 109 キーボードの形式(数字の 8 の上段は"(")で入力されます。

x を起動すると 101 キーボードになってしまいます(8 の上段は'*') 。
キー番号は忘れましたが右上の '\|' と 右下の '\_' は入力が出来ません。 
# どちらのキーボードを使用しても同じです。

当然かも知れませんが、plamo 4.6だけでなく P-Plamo-090319_dvd.iso 
も同じです。

同じく VMware 上の gentoo はいずれも 109 キーボードとして使用でき
ます。Windows/XP でも109 キーボードとして使用できます。

すべて条件が同じとは云えませんが kbd ドライバの差異ではないでしょ
うか。何か対策は考えられるでしょうか。

gentoo の xf86-input-keyboard-1.3.2.tar.bz2 のコンパイル設定は
./configure --prefix=/usr --build=i686-pc-linux-gnu \
 --host=i686-pc-linux-gnu --mandir=/usr/share/man\
 --infodir=/usr/share/info --datadir=/usr/share \
 --sysconfdir=/etc --localstatedir=/var/lib \

です。

xorg.conf は次のとおりです。
# plamo 4.6 (gentoo でもほぼ同じです。FontPath が異なっています)で

# P-Plamo の時は P-Plamo-090319_dvd.iso を非GUI モードで起動した後
# /etc/X11/ にコピーして startx で起動しました。
# Mode が "1566x908" なのは、VMware で起動したときにこのサイズだと
# 親OS の様々な表示の内側に表示できるからです。
# 蛇足ですが
#    HorizSync   1-10000

# は VMware は仮想 svga なので、VMware に任せるとこの値がセット
# されます。
