[plamo:09403] epscan のconfigureできない

かさいともうします.

  Plamo2.0改 + 自力 make の qt-1.44 + scsi aha1510 + scanner GT-5000wins 
です.
  GT-5000wins を使うべく epscan-0.5.tar.gz と tkscan-0.8.tar.gz を make 
しようとしています.

  その際 epscan の ./configure で下のように怒られてしまいます.

Unable to configure epscan

  checking for -lz... no が原因していると感じますが関係あるでしょうか. 
この解決方法を教えてください.

# ldconfig -v | grep libz
        libz.so.1 => libz.so.1.1.3

と表示されるので libz は存在してると思います.
