ご参考までに，状況とエラーのログ，カーネルの .config を添付しておきます．
1. /etc/fstab に 以下のように記述して, # mount /home すると Segmentation
fault で落ちます．
remotehost:/home /home nfs bg,intr,rsize=8192,wsize=8192,timeo=1 0 0
dmesg には以下のようなメッセージが出ます．

2. # mount earth:/home /home -t nfs
を実行すると，固まってなにも受け付けなくなります．
syslog と messages には以下のような関連する内容がでます．
# less /var/log/messages

3. 2.2.14 を新たに作ったときの .config は以下のようなものです．
