こじまさんにフォローして頂いた方法で、
userlink のメイクに成功しました。

接続に関しては、マシンを起動し、startx で X を立ち上てから、
qdial での接続は１回のみですが、成功しています。

２回目以降は、ダイアログ内に、ボタンや文字が表示されない
現象が出ています。この場合、エラーメッセージ等は出ていません。

tkppxp を起動した場合は最初から、中身が表示されません。
xinit で X を立ち上てから、tkppxp を起動した場合は、
中身も正常に表示され、接続にも成功しています。
同じく、xinit で X を立ち上てから、qdial を起動した場合は、
ダイアログ内に、ボタンや文字が表示されません。

xppxp は起動し、中身も正常に表示されます。
使用方法は、まだ把握できていません。

ppxp も使用方法を把握してないのですが、
起動後、qdial コマンドを実行した後、設定をしようとするのですが、
カーソル，BS,DELキーの設定が正しくないせいか、設定できません。

CTRL+中ボタンで、キー設定をしようとするのでが、
全体的にフリーズするようで、
ウィンドウや仮想コンソールの切り替えも出来ず、
CTRL+ALT+BSやCTRL+ALT+DELも受け付けられず、
リセットしなければならなくなります。

loadkeys などでも設定できるのでしょうか？
TOWNS用のキーマップファイルもあるのでしょうか？

メモリーが少ないのも原因かなと思いましたが、どうでしょうか？
下記は、X 上で、qdial を実行する前と後の free の結果です。

tcl1 パッケージは expect.tgz , tcl76b.tgz , tk24b.tgz を
インストールしました。

そういえば、Plamo-1.4.4 の報告をしてなかったですね。
だいぶ前に、CDをもらいましたが、インストールしたのがつい最近でした。

環境
  FM-TOWNS II Fresh , RAM 10MB , HDD 170MB
  ビデオカード  標準  640*480 256色のみ
  Plamo-1.4.4 / Linux 2.0.37 / 1999/10/24版
  ハードディスクが170MBしかないので、エキスパートモードで、
  細かく、インストールするのに苦労しました。
  ハードディスクは増設する予定はないので、
  メール専用マシンにしようかと考えています。

使って気になった点は、

マウスについて、
  マウス側  正面から右側 /dev/mouse1 にマウスを接続すると、
  おもった方向に移動できません。
  一瞬、逆方向などに進むことがあります。
  # Windows 95では、マウス側  正面から右側に接続するのですが．．．
  この現象は、新、旧どちらのTOWNSマウスドライバーを
  選んでも発生します。

XF86Config.FM-TOWNS について、
  /var/X11R6/lib/XF86Config.FM-TOWNS に設定ファイルがあるのですが、
  これは、旧 X サーバー XFFM_TOWNS 専用でしょうか。
  新 X サーバー XFFM_CRTC を選んだ場合、
  下記のメッセージが表示されます。
  モデルラインが旧 X サーバー XFFM_TOWNS 専用なのでしょうか？

XFFMSetup が正常起動しない。
  新 X サーバー XFFM_CRTC を選んで、XFFMSetup を起動した場合、
  1.細かいチェック模様の画面とマウスカーソルが表示されます。
  2.白地に青文字で、「立ち上げています。しばらくお待ち下さい。」と
    マウスカーソルが表示されます。
  3.細かいチェック模様の画面とマウスカーソルが表示されます。
  4.一瞬画面が黒くなります。
  5.細かいチェック模様の画面とマウスカーソルが表示されますが、
    それ以降、変化がないです。
  そのときのメッセージは下記のとおりになります。

Xwrapper に SUID ビットが立ってない。
  インストール後、Xwrapper に SUID ビットが
  立っていない為、一般ユーザーでは、X を起動できません。

  chmod u+s Xwrapper を実行して、
-rwxr-xr-x   1 root     root         5814 Jun 24  1999 Xwrapper
  から、
-rwsr-xr-x   1 root     root         5814 Jun 24  1999 Xwrapper
  に変更して SUID ビットを立てたら、 X が起動しました。
