[plamo:07435] 20GB HDが8GBと認識されます

はじめまして。超初心者の吉田＠仙台と申します。

Linux magazine 7月号の Plamo Linux 2.0をインストールし、カーネルの再構築が
できるまで、自分の思い違いから 4ヶ月かかりました。

そして、ノートパソコンPC-9821Nr13にPCカード経由でHDVA-20G(E-IDE)を接続しまし
たが、20GBではなく8GBと認識されます。

LargeDisk-HOWTOには、(8.4GBを越えるような)とても大容量IDEディスクについて:
最新の安定版カーネル(2.0.34かそれ以降)を使って下さい。通常はそれが一番です。

とあります。pcmciaは別なのでしょうか？

とりあえず dmesgの出力内容を載せておきます。

PCカードも認識しているし、HDの情報も読み込んでいる（但し、シリンダーの数値は
違いますが）ので問題ないように見えますが、
ただ、LBAの対応が出来ていないようにも見えるのですが．．

どなたか知恵をお貸し下さい。宜しくお願いいたします。
